“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...
...it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness..." Charles Dickens quite accurately sums up the wonderfully weird time that is high school (although I doubt that is what he was originally intending to do when stating the aforementioned). An unexplainable period of time where often joy and sadness are so intertwined with one another it is hard to separate them, high school seems to be a world of its own, one that was always surprising me whether it was through unexpected French quizzes or new friends in Chemistry class. The older I have gotten the more I seem to dread the thought of growing up. However, whether I like it or not, there seems to be nothing I can do to stop this irreversible process.
Four years of friends, teachers, laughter, tears, and memories, all wrapped up in the four corners of the old building located on SE 26th and Powell, Cleveland High School. To put it simply, I don't want to leave, but I know it's my time. Here is my celebration of the last four years, a final goodbye before I say hello to the next four years ahead.

My Teachers
It is always comforting to know that in the fast-paced and ever-changing world of high school some things stay the same. A constant over my time at Cleveland has been the people I have been lucky enough to call my teachers. On A-Days and on B-Days, I would walk into the same classroom as I had two days ago, sit in my same seat, by my same friends, and look forward to seeing my same teachers. They have made me laugh, made me think, and even made me smarter! I wanted to say thank you to my favorite teachers who day after day put up with talkative kids (me) who ask too many questions (also me) and usually forget to raise their hand (you already know...). Thank you for making school such a fun place to be, and my time here at Cleveland so wonderful, even if "school" this year consisted of a Zoom call and my living room sofa. To state it simply in teacher terms, "You rock!"
"Today was the first day of school and I got lost."
Always one to like to get my thoughts out onto paper, these past four years I have kept journals, documenting funny moments, to-do lists during finals weeks, and the scrappy musings of a teenage girl. I started this zine in January of this year (2021), as a way to reflect on the past four years by taking a good look not only through my old journals, but through my camera roll! I hope you will have as much fun looking through this little zine as I did making it.
Four years in the Making
Thanks for the laughs :)
